Additional modules

As minimalist setup, your filter consists of 2 modules, a roll paper for mechanical filtration and a moving bed for biological filtration. Since it is an open filter, it is easy to add any additional module or water treatment step in the system.

For example, here are some modules running on our tanks:

• UV sterilizer to reduce algae and microscopic organisms floating freely in the water
• Ozone reactor to raise your ORP (Oxygen Redox Potential) and get a first place crystal clear water
• Nitrate absorber to remove natural organic matter

I would advise you also to let a little air filter in the few free space. It is often a good idea to keep it "activated" with bacterial population in case you have to quickly setup a quarantine tank or if you have the possibility to join a trade market setup from local club.
