Standard position for a SUMP is under the aquarium, but that depends on your configuration and the stand holding the tank. You need to have enough space to position properly the filter, all tubing and additional equipment. Keep in mind extra space for maintenance: even with such auto clean filter, you'll have time to time to control proper working of all modules, and change roll paper.
